Discounts for IGRS Members

Members of the Irish Genealogical Research Society can avail of special discounts negotiated with genealogical publishers, suppliers of family history provisions and online  genealogy service providers.

All the special discounts can be obtained by quoting the promotional codes noted in the Members’ Area of the IGRS website.

Flyleaf Press:   Approx 40% Discount


Flyleaf Press is Ireland’s oldest established genealogical publishing company. Founded in 1987 by genealogist Jim Ryan, over the past quarter of a century Flyleaf has published genealogical guides to fifteen of Ireland 32 counties.  In addition, its guide to Irish church registers is indispensable, being written by the leading experts on the subject.

Fly leaf is offering IGRS members significant discounts on two of its publications: Tracing Your Limerick Ancestors and Sources for Irish Family History.

The Limerick volume is Flyleaf’s latest publication, a completely new and updated edition published in November 2013 and compiled by Margaret Franklin. It normally sells for €13 but can be obtained by IGRS members for only €7.50 (+ p&p).


The Sources guide has proved amazingly popular since it first came into print, containing an extensive list of books. monographs and periodical papers dealing with over 1500 specific Irish families and names. The references cited are mainly accounts of particular family lines and vary from fond and emotional accounts of families and their ancestral homes to dispassionate, well-researched and fully documented family studies and pedigrees. 

The Sources guide normally sells at €21, but can be obtained by IGRS members for €10 (+p&p).

Ireland-Genealogy:   30% Discount on all purchases is a searchable database of ‘pension search forms’. These forms date back to the early 20th century, and are a by-product of people needing to prove their age so as to qualify for a pension under the 1908 Pension Act. After providing their personal details, applicants stated the address they believed they were living in as a child, and officials would then make a search of the 1841 or 1851 census returns (which still existed at this time) to see if they could identify the applicant and so confirm their age.
