I don’t think Edward was in the coast guard. He was born around 1802 in Donegal and at some point moved to West Cork. I have seen the microfilm of Catherine’s baptism (from the Durruswest website) in 1836. There were 2 more children born in Schull – James in 1838 who I think died young, and John in 1840.
There were another 5 children born in Dromreagh, Durrus. Edward was a farmer while at Dromreagh, though when he died his occupation was weaver.
I have a lot of information on his children and descendants, but a brick wall on where he was born in Donegal, when he came to Cork and his wife’s maiden name!
