I found this record of the N. Cork Militia online: http://www.archive.org/stream/recordofnorthcor00mercrich/recordofnorthcor00mercrich_djvu.txt I didn’t read it all, however, your great, etc, grandfather is mentioned at the start. You might also try military records from Ancestry.
