I have the marriage of my Great Grandfather Patrick Masterson to a Catherine Costigan at St Laurence O’Toole Church in Dublin on the 22nd April 1885. It states Patrick as a widower, so I went looking for a previous marriage.
I found what I believe to be the correct marriage of Patrick to a Margaret Rigney on the 21st May 1882.
I have tried on irishgenealogy.ie to see if there were any children from this marriage to Margaret Rigney, but have found none.
Also I tried to find a death for Margaret Masterson (nee Rigney) between her marriage in 1882 and 1885 when Patrick (a widower) married Catherine Costigan, but again I could find no clear candidates.
On the marriage of Margaret and Patrick, it looks like Margaret’s father is Arthur, and one of the witnesses is a Jane Rigney, mother, sister, sister in law?
The Masterson line is what I am following, my direct line, but I would like to find out more on Margaret.
