Jill Williams – a native of Co. Cork, is a Fellow of the Society and one of its most prominent members. Well known for her broad and deep knowledge of the sources for Irish genealogy, she has a particular specialisation in underutilised Internet resources. No doubt displaying her own inimitable wit, her talk promises to be an eye opener to the resources available to the genealogist on the IGRS website.
Michael Flynn – is a native of Australia and the honorary Research Officer and website text editor for the Biographical Database of Australia which was original established in 1982 as the Australian Biographical & Genealogical Record by well known genealogists, Keith Johnson and Malcolm Sainty. It now contains more than 900,000 biographical records, noting the names of 1.6 million Australians from all walks of life: free settlers, convicts, merchants, farmers, politicians, shopkeepers and business owners etc., all drawn from a wide variety of sources.
The charge for attending the morning lectures, which includes lunch, is £25 members (£30 for non-members). The AGM is free. While anyone can attend the AGM, only members can vote. If you are not already a member, why not join today?
