IGRS plans tour of Irish Landed Gentry home in Bath

Royal Crescent, Bath.

The IGRS has arranged an exclusive visit to No. 1 Royal Crescent, Bath on Thursday 24 October 2013.

This beautiful Georgian house was the 18th-century home of Henry Sandford, a member of the Irish family of Wills-Sandford (see Landed Gentry of Ireland, 1958). Henry Sandford from Roscommon lived here from 1776-1796.

Come and join us on a tour of the house and a lecture about Henry Sandford, to be followed by tea and biscuits in the Servants’ Hall. Tom Wills-Sandford, a long term and faithful member of the IGRS, has lent pictures and other family memorabilia for a special exhibition about the house and the Sandford family. The tour, lecture and tea is £10 per person.

No. 1 Royal Crescent, Bath is now part of the Bath Preservation Trust. See website for further information about the house and Henry Sandford.
