RootsTech2015 may have come and gone, but if you weren’t able to get to Salt Lake City to hear IGRS vice-President, Roz McCutcheon, give her talk “Irish Records – Beyond the Obvious”, don’t panic as you can still read through the hand-out.

After covering the basics (civil registration, census, Griffiths’, tithes and parish registers), Roz went on to provide details and website links for a good number of terrific lesser-known and underused sources that should be on the “to-do” list of any budding Irish family historian.

RootsTech2015 Roz's talk

The venue was already nearly full ten minutes before Roz began speaking.

She talked at length providing details about the Schulze Marriage Registers, newspapers,  the Registry of Deeds, County Libraries etc. She finished by welcoming any who cared about Irish genealogy to join the IGRS!
