Two Fellows of the IGRS, Roz McCutcheon and Jill Williams, will be presenting a half-day course at the Society of Genealogists (SOG) in London in February.
Roz is the Society’s Newsletter Editor and the person we have to thank for the ever-growing Early Irish Marriages Index, while Jill is responsible for developing the Society’s Facebook presence into a must-visit resource page (4,477 fans can’t be wrong!). Both are familiar faces to regular visitors of the IGRS Library at the SOG.
Their Irish records – Beyond the obvious course will be a gem for those who have already made some headway with their research. After a brief summary of the usual sources, the course will cover the huge variety of lesser known sources, both online and offline.
This SOG-organised course will be held on Saturday 8 February, 10:30am–1:00pm, and the cost is £20. Online booking.
Venue: Society of Genealogists, 14 Charterhouse Buildings, Goswell Road, London EC1M 7BA.
Two other Irish-themed courses appear in the SOG’s 2014 course list, as follows:
Scottish and Irish Immigration, with Maggie Loughran, on Saturday 19 July, 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Irish Rentals and Census records, with Dr Jim Ryan, on Saturday 16 August. 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
