The Members-only section of the IGRS website IrishAncestors.ie has been updated with the following items:
Blake Family Records – Index to Volume 2:
For County Galway families, the two-volume publication Blake Family Records is a lot more exciting that the title might initially suggest as the author chronicles not only the Blake family but also provides an account of the fourteen ancient families/tribes of Galway Town from 1300 to 1700.
While an index to Volume 1 (1300–1599) was included in Volume 2 (and can be accessed free at archive.org), no index was produced by the publishers for the second volume (1600–1700).
On IrishAncestors.ie, members can now view a Names Index to Volume 2 created by Peter Manning FIGRS. It holds about 3,500 entries. It can be downloaded from the Library Holdings page (see Books & Journals section), which is accessible through the ► Members’ Area..
The Irish in India – Expert Tip
Council Member Joanna Fennell has written a slightly longer version of the Expert Tip published in the October e-bulletin. This is now available in the Expert Tips section of the ► Members’ Area.
Sitemap of Members’ Area
With the number of Members-only records, offers and benefits growing at such a pace, it seemed time to introduce a Sitemap, just in case you can’t readily find what you’re after. A link to this Sitemap can now be found on the home page of the ► Members’ Area.
