Sinéad's talk is a story from her own family history which focuses on an aspect of Irish social history which has not been widely covered to date - The Fit Ups - Irish Travelling Variety Shows.
Sinéad's grandfather, Marcus "Presto" Bickerdike, was a variety travelling show magician.
Sinéad Nolan works as a genealogist and has had an interest in genealogy since childhood which led her to seek formal education in this area. Sinéad holds a Diploma in Family History from the Institute of Commercial Management, a Certificate in the History of Family and Genealogical Methods from University of Limerick and a Diploma in Genealogy from University College Cork. Sinéad is currently a member of the committee of the Ireland branch of the Irish Genealogical Research Society (IGRS). Sinéad has more than 30 years experience researching Irish and British ancestry of both herself and others.
