The Irish National Ladies Land League kept the show on the road when the male leaders of the Land League were arrested in October 1880. Founded in January of that year in anticipation of the arrests, it was the first political organisation for women in Irish history, and proved to be more radical than its parent. Audreys' great-great-aunt, Kate Molony, was one of the treasurers.
