This talk will give you an introduction to Freemasonry and what the archives of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of Ireland can offer to the genealogical researcher.
Members and their families from the mid 18th Century on are documented, serving as an alternative, if specialised source of information on past generations.
Rebecca Hayes works as the Archivist and Curator at Freemasons’ Hall, Dublin. Graduating from University College Dublin with a BA in Archaeology and Greek and Roman Civilisation, she went on to complete a Diploma in Genealogy, also at UCD. She worked as an archaeologist and at Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre before taking up her current role in 2002.
