Irish Troops in the Great War

A century on from the end of the great war, the story of the thousands of Irish troops who served and fell in conflict, is still perhaps less understood than is deserved. In a subject that is even today a controversial one, we will focus not on the politics of the time, but instead shine a light on the simple and incredibly powerful story of those who  gave so much on the battle field.  This very special virtual tour will explore the very earliest days of the Great War right through to the Armistice in the footsteps or Irish soldiers who took part in iconic engagements at Etreux, Cuinchy, Gallipoli. The Somme, Messines, Ypres, Epehy and the Sambre Canal.
