The National Famine Way runs from the National Famine Museum in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon to the EPIC Museum on Custom House Quay, Dublin.
Caroilin Callery talks about the 165km long route taken in 1847 by 1,490 tenants of Strokestown House and Estate from there to Dublin from which they left to travel to Grosse Isle, Quebec, Canada. Caroilin also talks about the Global Famine Way which is being constructed in the US and Canada to commemorate Irish Famine emigration to those countries.

Caroilin is a Director of the Westward Group, the company that saved Strokestown Park in the late 1970s. She is recognised for her work building connections and international recognition for Strokestown and Roscommon among many universities and institutions across the world. Caroilin is also deeply involved in the ongoing development of the National & Global Irish Famine Way.
The talk was presented via Zoom by the Ireland Branch of the Society in October 2025. It is now released for all members to view by kind permission of the author and speaker.
