Join the Irish Genealogical Research Society (IGRS) for the flagship event of its 90th Anniversary International Lecture Series. This event brings together four leading genealogists and researchers to explore the roots of the IGRS and various sources for Irish genealogy.

This will be an in-person one day conference hosted in the recently opened Joly Theatre at the National Library of Ireland, Kildare Street, Dublin.

The four lectures will be:

“The first fifty years: early stalwarts, the journal, the library, and the foundation of the Ireland Branch”

speaker: Julian Walton (Vice President, IGRS)

“Snobs and Scholars: the Genealogical Office manuscript collection”

speaker: John Grenham (author & professional genealogist)

“Quality Assured: Ulster’s Office in the eighteenth century”

speaker: Colette O’Flaherty (former Chief Herald of Ireland)

“Recovering Ireland’s lost census records – census records in the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland”

speaker: Brian Gurrin (Census Specialist, Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland)

Booking is free of charge and open to all (subject to capacity of venue).
