The Land Commission generated millions of records, most of which still remain closed to the research public. This talk will describe the its work and provide an overview of outline the type of records it created.
Terence Dooley is Professor of History at Maynooth University and Director of the Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates. His latest book Burning the Big House: the Story of the Irish Country House in War and Revolution 1914-23 was published by Yale University Press in 2022.
