The National Famine Way

The National Famine Way runs from the National Famine Museum in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon to the EPIC Museum on Custom House Quay, Dublin. It is 165kms long and is the route taken in 1847 by 1,490 tenants of Strokestown House and Estate from there to Dublin from which they left to travel to Grosse Isle, Quebec, Canada. Caoilin Callery will also talk about the Global Famine Way which is being constructed in the US and Canada to commemorate Irish Famine emigration to those countries.
